Question Marc 3

Question: Kevin Allen.
Marc: Kevin’s participation in the movie is crucial. He has few lines but his presence is essential for the plot and he does it just great. Another great human being to have around also.

Question: Charlotte Gallagher.
Marc: I was afraid you would ask me about her. I ended up kicking myself for not having written a much longer part for her but I didn’t know how great she was. She’s fantastic! First and foremost a great actress but also beautiful, intelligent, easy going, disciplined. A real pleasure to work with her. I truly hope to do it again.

Question: Well, I’m sorry I asked.
Marc: It’s OK.

Question: Dare I ask about Tara?
Marc: Do ask. That was another treat! I know I’m sounding a little too self-complimentary with my cast but she’s really something else. She defines herself as a “scream queen” and she commented to me that when she got the script she started to look for the blood, the guts and the chopped limbs but instead she found a dramatic part. And I can’t praise enough what she did with it. She learned pages and pages in ONE DAY and she delivered a performance so mature, so well thought and so effective as if we had weeks and weeks of rehearsal. And as a person she can’t be lovelier, kinder, prettier, more modest… You can stop me if you want, but I wouldn’t appreciate it.

Question: I have to, I’m afraid, because we have to talk about Bill Oberst Jr. yet.
Marc: I’m glad we’re closing with him. Bill deserves a special mention. He took the role also a few days before start of the production and what he did with it is extraordinary. He’s one of the best actors I have seen. Not only among those I’ve worked with but in general. And his generosity, his kindness and his professionalism make him the ideal actor for any cast. I hope I could come up with a role worth his talent and that he would accept to play it in the future.

Question: It sounds like the ideal cast…
Marc: It is.

Question: How difficult was it to put it together?
Marc: I must say that at the end of the day we were extremely lucky. We had to look for several options and we got a few rejections in between too. Some didn’t like the money, some had apprehensions about their roles (which are daring, I concede that), another one found the script not well enough written (I cannot argue with that either), some didn’t even bother to answer, but without intending to belittle the quality of those who didn’t accept to work with us, I’m glad to have had the chance to work with the final cast. It couldn’t have been better and I can’t be more grateful for their participation in the project.

Question: Thank you.
Marc: My pleasure.
